Offshore Guyana, Skeye, together with their partner Kotug, successfully carried out a drone line transfer operation between a production platform and a support vessel operating near an FPSO.
Using a DJI M300 equipped with a quick-release system, a lightweight line was flown across a distance of 150 meters which connects both sides safely and efficiently.
The goal was to demonstrate how drone based logistics can support daily operations in offshore environments, reducing manual handling and improving overall safety. This test contributes further to an increase in safety and efficiency of marine operations.
Alongside the line transfer, Skeye also demonstrated the Elios and Fly Cart systems, showing their value for inspection, delivery, and cargo support tasks at sea.
The project proved that drones can offer a reliable and flexible tool for FPSO logistics, offshore inspection, and connection support, even under challenging conditions.
This trial reinforces Skeye’s experience in offshore drone operations and our ability to adapt UAV technology for complex maritime environments.
Why this matters:
- Supports offshore logistics
- Shows flexibility of UAV systems in changing conditions
- Demonstrates Skeye’s experience with complex operations
